Why the freak are these two even here as a popular non-canon het FFT ship?

Honestly, when I first played FFT years ago, I did NOT expect Agrias to join the party as a playable character after the Golgollada Gallows. Heck, I did not think much of Agrias and Ramza as a ship at the time until I read this silly ass FFT fanfic.

Yes, I knew Agrais was a misspell as Agrias lmao and my first thought was that...people shipped these two?

Out of curiosity, I went to dig up Ramza x Agrias fanworks such as fanfics and fanarts and boom! I was a shipper!

Canonical Context

So to answer my own question, maybe it is because she was the first special class female character that joined Ramza's party in chapter 2. Prior to the Golgollada Gallows story battle in chapter 2, Agrias was a guest character. When Agrias discovered Ramza was a Beoulve and Ramza have to explain his side of the story, thanks to salty Gaffgarion's shit-talking during the Golgollada battle, she told him the following:

Ramza had indeed proven himself the moment he refused to join in Gaffgarion's betrayal during the Zeirchele Falls battle and helped Agrias and her knights,Alicia and Lavian to protect Princess Ovelia from Gaffgarion and they traveled together to Lionel Castle to seek help from Alphonse Delacroix's protection for Ovelia after my BOY, Mustadio, joined the party as a guest and we, FFT fans, know how did it go.

In the original FFT version, after the story battle in Golgollada battle in chapter 2, Ramza and Agrias stopped interacting with each other and I always find it weird like should Agrias be commenting about Ovelia being safe with Delita?

In the PSP version, Agrias, Alicia and Lavian did reunited with Ovelia at the Zeltenna Ruins in chapter 4 and Agrias still choose to travel with Ramza. I thought she would permanently leave Ramza's party to become Ovelia's bodyguard once again.

In the Ivalice Chronicles, Ramza's and Agrias's interactions extended and Agrias tried to convince Zalmour and Izlude that Ramza was innocent after he was branded as a hetetic. Ramza and Agrias have a talk about Gerrith Barrington during the battle at Riovanes Castle. I think it was the only time they had directly interacted with each other. After the Riovanes Castle, Agrias would mention Ramza when she interacted with Delita, saying she trusts Ramza.

Fanonical Interpretation

I would like to think Agrias developed romantic feelings for Ramza which it "explained" why she did not stay behind with Ovelia. Agrias had shown she distrust Delita and given Ovelia a knife to defend herself with or maybe Agrias was too beholden to Ramza to leave his party. I think Agrias's reputation as a "traveling with a hetetic" may also have something to do with it as well; she doesn't want Ovelia to share the same reputation as her. I think Agrias distrusted Delita, but choose not to share those feelings with Ramza as she knew Ramza still considered Delita as a friend.

How about her Birthday event in the PSP version? Would that alone thrown the whole Ramza x Agrias ship out of the window?

I heard the word "friendship" did not exist in the Japanese version and a FFT fan thought the official transtor may have been a Ramza x Agrias shipper and added "friendship" to the English translation:

"Great story! And for the records... in japanese version the word "friendship" doesn't appear at all ;) I think the FFTWotL translator is a Ramza/Agrias fan."

I'm not fluent in the Japanese language so obviously I can't play the original Japanese PSP version to confirm this. Well, even though Mustadio x Agrias may be canon in the WOTL version, going by the logic of "friendship" doesn't exist in the Japanese script,I still ship Ramza x Agrias. And it is rather strange that Ramza was there during the whole event...Why was he even there? To make sure Mustadio doesn't chickened out from giving Agrias her birthday gift or maybe he could have been the one who brought the gift for Agrias, but was too shy to give it to Agrias herself or maybe Ramza just wanted to be there to cheer Mustadio? Who knows?

Since I can obviously understand English, in the WOTL version, I would like to think Agrias only sees Mustadio as a friend because she may have feelings for Ramza and maybe that's why she mentioned the word "friendship."

Zodiac Signs

Ramza is canonically a Capricorn since his birthday is Default to January 1st in the original PSX version and Capricorn 21 (January 12) in the PSP version and he is also a Capricorn in the PSP Rendezvous battles and Agrias is canonically a Cancer. Capricorn and Cancer are the opposite signs in the Zodiac. So, did the game developers intended these two to be opposites for some reason in canon or it is just a gameplay thing that doesn't affected the story?
